Textron Defense Systems, an operating
unit of Textron Systems
Corporation, manufactures air launched weapons, smart
submunitions, intelligent battlefield munitions and sensor
systems, and ground and airborne surveillance systems. The
Sensor Fuzed Weapon, smart anti-armor weapon, made its combat
debut in Operation Iraqi Freedom where accounts of its successful
use describe the destruction of multiple armored tanks with
a single weapon. Recently, we were awarded several major contracts
in the area of force protection including: Intelligent Munitions
System, FCS Tactical and Urban Unattended Ground Sensors and
a Man-in-the-Loop Force Protection system Spider. We continue
to expand our capabilities through the recent acquisition
of Innovative Survivability Technologies (IST). IST brings
over twenty years experience in survivability systems including
vehicle protection systems and radiation detection systems
for homeland security applications.
